The outside is a firm, non-bendable and not plushy material (does that make sense!?). It is small enough to fit in my purse. I have the Canon Powershot SD 780 IS and it fits perfectly in a little mesh pocket on the inside cover of the case. It also has a velcro strap that you could put a phone in or something else you would like to keep safe. On the outside of the case there is a handy clip so if you're into fanny packs or something you could clip it right on there for easy access! I got mine in pink and it is really cute. Definitely recommend this case to other clumsy people like me who drop stuff a lot. This case will definitely keep your camera safe and secure.
