I bought the camera on black Friday. It said that If I buy it from amazon, I can get a 4G memory card for free. However, they ordered it twice and did not send the memory card. And when I call the customer service, they refuse it. It is unbelievable. I am very angry.

Our last camera (a Canon Powershot S410) recently went on the fritz, so we started to research a new camera. All of the reviews and ratings led us to purchasing the Canon SD790IS. HOWEVER, no product review on Amazon or even the product description page informed us that the flash card that was included with the camera was only intended as a ‘test card’. We were so excited to use our new camera and then after only three photos and a FOUR second video, our camera started to flash “Memory Card Full”. We called Canon’s Customer Service thinking something was wrong with our camera; however, they informed us that the 32MG flash card included with the camera was only intended to ‘test’ the camera to make sure it worked. We actually called Canon Customer Service again to be sure this was correct information. Well, it was apparently correct, and we were without a doubt annoyed that this information was not more prevalent in the product description. The bottom line is this: BE AWARE that the camera does not work by just taking it out of the box. You will need a flash card in addition to your purchase of the camera. We just purchased an 8 GB card that won’t arrive until next week, so we are still without a camera. If we had known this information a bit sooner, it most likely would have affected our decision as to which camera to purchase in terms of budget. DON’T BE FOOLED LIKE WE WERE! As an aside, for anyone who is debating purchasing the Canon accessory kit (camera case, extra battery, and strap), we were very happy with the case, and you can’t beat having an extra real Canon battery.

We had to return the product because the power did not turn on. I suspect there was a problem with the battery or charger.
